Guitar Lessons

Guitar Lessons

With all the information on the internet available to learn guitar, sometimes you just need a nudge in the right direction.

As an experienced Secondary teacher, I know how important it is to have a personalised lesson plan for each student so they can reach whatever goals they have.

My first session with a new pupil is free of charge, so that we can get to know each other and develop a plan moving forwards. I regularly like to check in with my students and change this dependent on where they’re at in their musical journey.

Hi! I’m Sam, a guitar teacher based out of Wombwell, near to Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield.

I’ve been playing music for over 15 years in various rock and metal bands and have been working as a teacher for the last 7 years. My goal is to give the best guitar and music lessons, by delivering a personalised curriculum, easy-to-understand technique advice and tips and methods to become a better all-round musician.

My students learn through whatever method works best for them, whether that is learning and dissecting their favourite songs or working through RGT/Rock School Grades. We always focus on a holistic view of the instrument so they become well-rounded musicians.

I am based out of Wombwell, near Barnsley. If you are after face-to-face lessons, it’s easily accessible from Rotherham, Wath-Upon-Dearne, Mexborough and Hoyland.

About

I’ve been playing music for over 15 years, including guitar, bass, drums and singing. I love metal music of all varieties, but also rock, modern fusion and musicals. After joining a progressive metal band a few years ago, I’ve had a massive focus on pushing my music theory knowledge, in both harmony and rhythm, and also my technique to play the music in this genre.

I am also quite experienced in playing extended-range (7 and 8 string) guitars, and can hopefully show you how to adapt your technique for these instruments!

And here’s me!
